Junior Golf

Membership

Junior membership is available for boys and girls aged up to 18 years old, no matter what experience or whether they currently hold a handicap or not. Our membership year runs from July to June; joining part way through the year is always possible.

For those already with a handicap, there are regular junior club competitions on Sundays, as well as the opportunity to play in men’s or ladies’ competitions for those with lower handicaps.

It only requires three 18 hole (or six 9 hole) cards to obtain an official handicap – just play with another member who already has their handicap and return the card to one of the professionals after the round.

The Juniors meet each Thursday evening in the winter at WGA driving range in Sampford Peverell, for practice and coaching.

The club hosts a very popular Junior Open each summer, and enters a team into the Devon Basil Steer Trophy (inter-club knockout) each year.

Several former junior members are now successful professionals, while Eliot Baker has progressed to currently representing England Men’s Team as an amateur.
